Update
Updated: Tutorial 1
If you are interested in Python and Kivy, I intend to have tutorials at pythonmobile.
If you don't know Python, you may check my pythonaudio site, since I talk about the important elements in the beginning such as lists, tuples and dictionaries.
However, soon I intend to also start focusing on JMonkeyEngine 3, for 3D game programming in Java.

Jewel Chase 5 Game
LibGDX offers Orthogonal and Isometric Map rendering. I will go into the details next week. I have used them to build a simple car game available on Google Play for free. This is the Youtube video:
